Day 193 - Sons of Maxwell

So today I slept until 1:30 pm which totally sucked because I wasted my day, and then I hung out with Dylan and we watched Petri mow his lawn. Then we departed and I went home and then we regrouped at around 6:20 and we took the shuttle bus to the McIntyre Arena and waited for the concert to start and the first band playing was Compass Rose and not to be mean but I didn't think they were that great, maybe they just aren't my style, anyway so we left and went to McDonalds and got mcflurries and fries and i usually dip my fries in honey (its really good!) and i tried it in my smarties mcflurry and it was actually pretty good! i wouldn't eat it all the time, I'll stick with my honey, but it was good! Then we walked back and once we sat down they introduced Sons of Maxwell and I was like "Yaaay!" and they were lively and smiling and it was awesome! I really liked their songs so I got a CD ($20, not bad) and then once they finished having playing they were signing books and CDs so I got Dave and Don Carroll as well as the guitarist Chris to sign it too, they were nice :D I also got a picture with Don but since it was on my ipod it totally sucks! oh well! And now he has my sharpie :D :P and i have his :P because mine wasn't a fine tip one!  Overall it was a great night! Well here's the picture of Don and I :P and if you want to check out their website click the link! http://sonsofmaxwell.com/ and here's a youtube link to one of their viral sensations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo

Ps. Sorry it's late! My internet was crapping out big time!
PPS. this was drawn using the sharpie i got from Don! :P

Day 192 - How to be happy when you're having a bad day

You know when you're having a bad day and you want to sit inside and eat food and laze around not caring about anything but you have errands to run and life to live? Well do I have a tip for you! This is a very simple little thing that anyone can do and it is the main one I will tell you about. Are you ready? Really? You want to know? Smile. That's it. Just smile :) If you're out at the mall and you don't want to be there, smile! Stand up straight and tall, walk proudly (not cocky) and smile at all the people walking past. You don't have to know them to smile at them! If you're walking on the sidewalk and there are people approaching you, smile at them  and say hi! You could also just do a slight nod in their direction and smile which works well if you have a full mouth. Wave at the cars on the highway! They often look confused but I find that it makes me happier :)  I don't know why either! Smiling makes you happy! Try it. I DARE YOU! SMILE! RIGHT NOW!! :P See? Don't you feel happy now? Imagine that you are having a bad day and walking through the mall and someone approaching you smiles at you, usually you smile back to be friendly but it will make you feel better! I don't know if this could cure depression but it cures everyday blues for me! A few other things you can do are:
- Write a letter to someone! Not an e-mail but an actual handwritten letter! Put it on some colourful paper with some stickers and send it off in the post! It might take a while but don't tell them you sent it! It's nice to receive something that isn't a bill! And hey, you might even start a nice conversation through letters with them!
- Call an old friend/ relative you haven't talked to in a while! This one you need time for though! I find the phone conversations I get into with relatives and friends tend to carry on for a while since there are usually many things to talk about!
- Bake!  Bake some chocolate chip cookies or some cupcakes and make them look pretty! Put them in a box and give them to your neighbour or your friend! They might even be having a bad day so you could be brightening their day too! Usually giving something to someone makes you feel good :) Life is about giving, not taking!
- Hobbies! (This one my mum said) She said that when she feels down she likes to read or garden, bake and other stuff too, you could craft or paint, it's not a hobby but you could go outside, maybe even take a bath!
But definitely one thing we agree on is that doing something for other people will always make you feel better, definitely smiling :)
Well thanks for viewing, keep calm and stay classy! :D Have a great night! :D

Day 191 - You wanna know what I love?

I love the fact that some of the girls I babysit actually refer to me as an artist :) (or so) because the other day I was painting on the sidewalk with Sequoia and Olivia and then Sarah and her friend were on their way to the park so Sarah called out "What's your new project Kelly?" and then I called them over to ask if they wanted to sidewalk paint with us and (i think) Sarah and Olivia (could've been only one) said "Kelly is an artist who likes to make dinosaurs, she even has a blog about it!"* (*Paraphrased) and I couldn't help but smile :) because hey, that's nice! I don't really think of myself as an artist but apparently they do! :P So I've been thinking and before the summer is out or before the first snowfall I would like to build a GIANT dinosaur. when I say giant I don't mean 18 ft tall or anything, more like 6ft. at the max! But I don't know what I would do with it... I think I would make a frame of wood and/or wire and then use some crumpled balls of newspaper to add bulk and then tape those in place and then paper mache to get a smooth finish, paint it, add some details maybe and then I would coat it in somehting to make water proof... Haha and then I could put it in the forest somewhere and it would scare the shit out of someone walking past! Hehe, just in the treeline to be seen from the road:
*People in a car driving along*
Bob - "Oh wow! The scenery here in northern Ontario is AMAZING! I wonder if we'll see any wildlife! " Sally - "Keep your eyes peeled kids!"
Tim - "Hey look a moose!"
George - "I see a fox!"
Kelly - "Hey AWESOME! I didn't know they had dinosaurs up here!"
Everyone else - "WHAAAAAT??!?!?!?"

Oh gosh, that would be priceless! Anyway, if anyone has any ideas as to how i could make this vague idea of a giant Dinosaur statue better, comment or message me or something, I would love to hear anything you guys have! Thanks for viewing, keep calm and stay classy! :D
Ps. This is a vague wooden structure starting point. I figure that i would make the inside belly mostly hollow but sorta heavy so that is would still be able to stay put..

Day 190 - I'm Sooooo Tired...

I'm super tired right now and I kinda feel sick too :( maybe I shouldn't have eaten those confetti bar squares... instead I should've had an orange or an apple... Today I had another nap and it was once again like 2 hours long.... I fell asleep while playing the sims... well actually I was making a family but i still fell asleep while doing that... I have no idea why I'm so tired.. When school comes along I really need to stop doing that.. Bed 12:00 or earlier every night... That might help a little bit :D Can I just say that I think this dinosaur blog was one of the best ideas i've had in a while? Well here I am, a little more than halfway through and i feel better than I did... I don't know if that's just me getting older or whatever but I feel more determined to finish this... well i think i was more determined right at the beginning but still :P I have a few large ones that i want to make before the summer is over so I'm going to have to hop on that wagon and get my supplies ready... What do you think should I make a super snazzy one for day 200? I'm thinking yes... It'll have to be better than the day 100 one though.. hmmmm! Better put my thinking cap on! Well I feel tired and sick so imma head to bed now, thanks for viewing, keep calm and stay classy! :D And thanks for sticking with me :D even those of you who don't know me in Russia and Germany (naming those because they view more often than the other countries that I don't know people from) and all the other places! :D

Day 189 - OMG I'M AN AMAZING BAKER! :D

So today I baked some cookies with Sequoia (the girl I babysit) and they turned out to be delicious :D and just for you guys I made a dinosaur shaped one :D I'm sorry, I would've baked enough for everyone but I don't know how many I would've had to make! After she left (a bit after lunch) I went upstairs and painted my nails :D but the are already messed up so imma have to fix that tomorrow.... and then I installed the hooks that I got for christmas so i have a place to hang stuff.. like my mario hat, and sweaters, and belts and stuff :P and then a while later I hung with Petri and Dylan and we watched Horrible Bosses (again, because that movie is amazing) Well here's today dinosaur (chocolate chip and mini m&m cookie :D ) I have to go to sleep now, thanks foe viewing, keep calm and stay classy!! :D
PS. Sorry about the crappy quality, I took them with my ipod

Day 188 - Dear human race..... I'm disappointed in you...

So there's this boy that went missing a couple weeks ago (2 i think) and I just heard that apparently the body has been identified as his. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of all the bad people out there in the world... Kids are scared of monsters in the dark but the real monsters are right in front of us. The shooting at the batman movie, the shooting in the Eaton center, the multiple shootings at the university in the States... it all makes me question our existence. How have we made it this far without destroying ourselves? We destroy our planet and we destroy our selves... You watch crime shows like Criminal Minds and whatnot but secretly hope that there are no people that are sick enough to do such horrible things. I never understood why people liked watching horror movies... You enjoy watching people being murdered? Really? Everyone thinks that animals are stupid and their supporting statement is "well then how come they aren't as evolved as us?" well have you ever looked at a pride of lions? The female lions work together to hunt and kill to feed others, you don't see them walking around murdering one another... sure they battle for power but that's about it... (as far as i know, i'm not a lion expert) It is phenomenal how amazing humans are.... full range of emotions and skill sets. We have created some pretty awesome things! The seven wonders of the ancient world... the statue of liberty, the great wall of china, the world we know today. We also have expanded our knowledge and our religions but I believe that religion may be what is tearing this world apart. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing anyone's religion, I still go to church sometimes and i think that whatever you wish to believe is your choice. Whether you believe in one god (christian or catholic or many other religions) or several gods (greek, egyptians, maybe others) it's completely your choice, you either accept it and follow it or you refuse it and  choose something else. The clash of religions and the want for power and land is probably what fueled many wars (greed mostly) but there have been more than a few more recent (last 100 years or so) events that were sparked by religious disputes. 9/11 for one example. I won't go into detail because i don't want to have to google the shit out of it to make sure that i'm correct with everything I say...Well those are my thoughts. I need to sleep now so that I have enough energy to do stuff tomorrow, i reaaaally need to find the hot glue gun.... hmm. Well maybe i'll rant a little bit more tomorrow... Good night! Thanks for viewing and reading that incredibly long and boring post... I am sorry if I offended anyone but those are just a few of my opinions, you don't have to agree with anything I say, I'm just putting that out there. Keep calm and stay classy!
PS. RIP Josh D. - I hardly knew you but you seemed to be a pretty okay guy, you smiled back and said hi every time I walked past you on my way home from school which makes you okay in my books. :) And whether you knew it or not, your life has affected more people than you know...
PPS. sorry the post is late and the dino is lame but I'm sorta shaken by this whole thing.... that's 2 kids around my age that have died in the past couple months...
UPDATE: So i just saw on the news that they don't suspect foul play, meaning they probably suspect suicide... but still human race.. i'm disappointed in you...
